DAY 1: ARRIVE IN BEIJING Arrive at Beijing and enjoy a warm welcome from your local guide. Check in at your central hotel and enjoy some free time. Explore the local area before a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant. DAY 2: BEIJING Today, uncover Beijing’s heritage on a visit to Tiananmen Square in the centre of the city. Walk through Forbidden City, which houses China’s largest collection of ancient buildings including the well-preserved Imperial Palace. Discover authentic Beijing cultures on a rickshaw ride through Hutong, then stop at Wangfujing’s vibrant night food market. DAY 3: BEIJING GUIDED TOUR Today take a guided tour to see the iconic Great Wall of China. Take a picturesque cable car ride up to the UNESCO World Heritage site and enjoy a toboggan ride back down. Wander the elegant gardens at Summer Palace and see the famous Olympic Park - also called the Bird’s Nest - before your final overnight stay in Beijing. DAY 4: XI’AN In the morning, board the high-speed bullet train to Xi’an. Playing a very important part in history, Xi’an’s old city walls soar 12m high and feature tunnels, gates, watchtowers, and a moat. Built during the Ming dynasty in the 14th century, they today provide some of the best views across the city. Stay overnight in your Xi’an hotel. DAY 5: XI’AN Visit one of China’s top attractions - Terracotta Warriors Museum. Discovered in the 20th century, this site is considered one of the most famous archaeological finds, with thousands of life-sized soldiers and horse models made from clay during the Qin dynasty. In the afternoon, visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda, before returning to your hotel. DAY 6: GUILIN Transfer to the airport for your short flight to Guilin. Meet your tour guide and transfer to the hotel before visiting the enchanting Reed Flute Cave. The natural limestone rock features spectacular stalagmites and stalactites which are illuminated by multi-coloured lights to create a beautiful underground picture. See the city of Guilin at night then return to the hotel.
DAY 7: LONGSHENG TO GUILIN Today, you have a full-day tour to
Longsheng. This mountainous county is home to picturesque natural scenery and vast terraced rice fields known as ‘Longji’. Translating to mean ‘dragon’s backbone’, the intriguing mountain range is the perfect place to take unique photos. Return to Guilin for your overnight stay. DAY 8: YANGSHUO TO GUILIN Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a drive to Yangshuo. Cruise the calm water of the Li River and admire pretty passing views on both sides. Experience a complete contrast in the afternoon as you visit Yangshuo’s West Street. Walk the county’s oldest street and visit hundreds of shops, cafés and restaurants. Transfer back to your Guilin hotel in the afternoon and stay overnight. DAY 9: SHANGHAI Leave your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai - China’s commercial centre and most populated city. Head downtown and discover The Bund - a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River - and stop at Nanjing Road which is the city’s oldest shopping street. Before returning to your hotel for the night, enjoy the energetic nightlife in Xintiandi. DAY 10: SHANGHAI Today, visit Yùyuán Garden in the old city and take part in a traditional tea ceremony. Continue to Jade Buddha Monastery and the 468m Oriental Pearl TV Tower with its revolving platform - perfect for a bird’s eye-view across the city. In the evening, see the city from a different angle as you cruise Huangpu River. Return to your hotel. DAY 11: SUZHOU AND SHANGHAI Your full-day Suzhou tour begins at the renowned Humble Administrator’s Garden. This traditional Chinese landscape covers more than 13 acres and features elegant pavilions and bridges throughout. Travel west to Tiger Hill and see the Yunyan Pagoda standing at the top. Walk along the winding paths of the Grand Canal before your final night stay in Shanghai. DAY 12: DEPART FROM SHANGHAI Relax on the last morning of your trip before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
