The new station will be built at the existing site, 200 E. Cook Avenue. This will require the relocation of the Police Department during construction, which will not impact service levels. The Community Development Department and Engineering Division of Public Works have been relocated permanently to new office space at 325 N. Milwaukee Avenue, 2nd floor. WHERE WILL THE NEW STATION BE LOCATED?

The police station is an integral part of the downtown neighborhood. It is important for the design of the station to fit into the neighborhood and also for the Police Station to be a good neighbor. Care has been provided in designing the new station in order to limit the impact on the adjacent neighbors. Additional secure fencing will be utilized to secure working spaces and the water tower infrastructure. A public parking lot will be located on the west side of the building.
