functions, with our academic and research colleagues and our students so that we can ensure that the communities we serve are at the very heart of the directorate’s work. tions and ensuring a professional handover to the campus-based Security Manager / deputy. Act as a role model for exceptional service, professional behaviour and best practice while creating an environment that motivates staff, ensuring that they are fully aware of what is expected of them and what success looks like. Service Delivery Ensure the delivery of world-class customer centric services which offer value for money and continu- ously enhance the student experience and their wellbeing both on campuses and within residencies. Supporting the OOH Security Manager to ensure a consistent service delivery approach across all campuses working closely with Campus Operations colleagues, student welfare, KCLSU, residencies, campus-based Security Managers / their deputies and other groups to understand and meet customer and stakeholder requirements. Demonstrate a positive approach to stakeholder management, developing effective internal and exter- nal networks including neighbouring security partners and local police teams and other professionals. Working with the Head of Security, other campus-based Security Managers and the OOHs Security Manager, to develop new as well as review existing policy, practise and procedures for the delivery of security services across the estate. Working with emergency services as the KCL security incident response manager and with other stake- holders for internal / external events on campus to proactively support the service provided by securi- ty teams and seek innovative ways to develop and improve service delivery. Assisting all the Security Managers with engagement with Trade Unions on ‘out of hours’ security con- Support all the Security Managers to ensure a safe working environment for the security teams through full compliance with health and safety legislation in respect of all work undertaken by the security teams, including specific guidance in Risk Assessments and Assignment Instructions and fire evacuation procedures. Make recommendations to continually improve working practises. Working with all the Security Managers to ensure appropriate 24hr incident management structures are maintained. Role purpose The Deputy Out of Hours’ Security Manager will support the Out of Hours’ Security Manager managing the out of hours security delivery across the estate and will oversee the initial incident response by King’s security teams across all Campuses, associated Residences and other areas of King’s Estate. They will be the single ‘out of hours’ point of contact for all security supervisors when on duty. Through a combination of tasking and self-deployment, they will be expected to visit all the campuses to ensure the highest standards of conduct and customer service skills are displayed by all the out of hours security staff and will resolve issues as they emerge or escalate as required. As an experienced security professional, they will drive efficiencies by intelligent use of resources and support the wider Cleaning and Security Services (CSS) team with future transformation change. The postholder will be the key point of contact in the event of any out of hours emergency on campus or adjacent to our estate and will lead the security response supported by Out of Hours Security Manager and the Campus Security Manager.

Role profile Team Leadership

Supporting the OOH Security Manager to ensure a fit for purpose and efficient ‘out of hours’ security team, utilising King’s policies to manage all aspects of performance while ensuring the highest stand- ards of customer service are delivered. Due to the nature of the service (7days a week/ 365 days a year) and the wide dispersal of security staff across the King’s College London estate, the post holder will encounter, and need to resolve, inherent challenges in maintaining effective leadership of a disparate team Through on-site support and guidance, the postholder will deputise for the ‘Out of Hours’ Security Manager and assist the campus-based security managers to ensure the continuing professional devel- opment of all security staff. In particular ensuring that all managed staff, including third party service providers, have completed the Fit For King’s customer service programme and have adopted Fit For King’s behaviours. Including in-house cleaning and security services. Our customer’s experience at each campus must be seamless and the quality of service we provide must be consistent across campuses.

Support the management of the security budget by making sound judgements of resourcing require- ments including but not limited to third party delivered services, and demand-based requirements such as sickness absence and events on campus. Contribute to the delivery of sustainable cost savings and support the development of new and ex- isting metrics to consistently deliver agreed performance standards (including sustainability targets) across the out of hours security teams. As an incident manager expected to respond at short notice across any of our sites, the role holder will be required to drive and hold a full UK driving licence for manual vehicles, a vehicle will be provided for use. Other duties as directed by the Associate Director of Facilities (Security and Cleaning) and Head of Security and the OOH Security Manager.
