examination but may do so at the discretion of the chief hearing officer. The Disciplinary Committee shall report findings within 72 hours of the hearing. The findings shall be reported to the President or his designee and said person will notify the student of the results of the hearing and the implications of the decision.
How to Appeal a Formal Hearing:
Although extremely rare, any student who is dissatisfied with the results of an official hearing may file an Appeal to the President of the College via the Advocate system. To do so, click on the Current Students page and click on the Concerns/Complaint link. From there, and depending on what you are appealing, click on either the Request to Appeal a Code of Conduct Hearing Result & File a President’s Appeal or the Request to Appeal a Grievance Hearing Result and File a President’s Appeal link within the Advocate system (as pictured on the next page).
How to File an Appeal Online in the Advocate System
Step 1: Go to Lawson’s official website at www.lawsonstate.edu and click on “Current Students”.
From there, select Concerns/Complaints from the drop-down menu bar.
