Gregg Chamberlain gregg.chamberlain@eap.on.ca Golfers, both the seasoned professional and the enthusiastic amateur, have a choice of two excellent courses to play during visits to Clarence-Rockland. The Outaouais Golf Club located in the heart of Clarence-Rockland offers a 27-hole course rated “premium” by the Ottawa Golf Examiner. The main 18-hole course and the executive nine-hole both present their own challenges to the aficionado“with an interes- ting variety of holes”scattered over the lush, rolling landscape with its ponds and copses of woodland. Lessons for newcomers to the game and advice for veterans is also available from the professional staff, and there are a
well-kept driving range and putting green available for practice before tee-off time. For a relaxing après-jeu session with one’s fellow golfers the club offers fine-dining at its restaurant and outdoor patio facility. A more “country feel” to the game of golf is the experience at the Hammond Golf Club, located just at the edge of the Village of Hammond about a ten-minute drive from Rockland. The 18-hole course features open fairways for those long drives and just the right amount of water and sand traps tomake a day on the links interesting.
