ABOUT US We are leading wholesale exporters of British grocery brands, selling over 24,000 products to more than 650 customers in 133 countries worldwide. We are a third-generation, family business based in Grimsby, UK, with a reprocessing facility in Scunthorpe, UK, and international sales presence in South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and Dubai, UAE. From confectionery, crisps, drinks and meat to baby care, pet care, ice cream and vegetables, we have an endless product offering within our ranges of Everyday (ambient), Health, Fine Foods, Chilled and Frozen.
By providing a wide and diverse product range, exceptional levels of customer service support and implementing a strategy to offer customers a total supply chain solution, covering logistics, data compliance, relabelling, ingredient translations and category management, our ‘customer first’ strategy has turned us from simply being an export wholesaler into an unmatched, value-added service provider. Customer service is at the heart of Ramsden International and our aim is to make importing British groceries as simple as possible for our customers with a commitment to excellence in everything we do.
HISTORY Our story began 76 years ago, when our CEO’s grandfather, Ron Ramsden, opened a small retail store in Grimsby, UK, in 1946…
Ron Ramsden established Ramsden’s Retail Store in Grimsby, England. Ron’s son, Dudley Ramsden, founded a wholesale company, with the main purpose being to supply Ramsden’s Retail Store.

The wholesale company’s first export order.
1989
Export division officially launched.
Ron’s grandson, Sean Ramsden, joined the family business to manage the export division, which was selling to over 50 countries.
1995
2006
We launched our website offering over 12,000 products.
2009
Opened our first reprocessing facility.
Royal visit from HRH The Princess Royal and our Health range is introduced.
2010
2017
Launch of Ramsden Order Capture System (ROCS).
Achieved Full Authorised Economic Operator Status (AEO-F) and Sean Ramsden is awarded an MBE in New Year’s Honours for services to International Trade.
2020
Fine Foods range introduced.
2021
