Meet the Committee

Lauren Hogan Events Officer

What is your personal mantra or motto? I am a true believer of, what is meant for you, won’t pass you by… (Oldy but a goldy) What is your background? I am originally from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, land of the scalders, strawberries & yellow- bellies! We will forever hang-on to the glory days of ’96! I attended an all-girls, kilt wearing, catholic secondary school, where every morning we were greeted with the ‘Our Father’ over the inter-com. Country girl, with dreams of the city. What are your biggest achievements? Finding the bravery to actually come-out in a small rural town. Where I was literally ‘The only gay in the village…’

Nuttawud ‘Zack’ Nutchanat Administrator

Kery Mullaly Membership Officer

What is your personal mantra or motto? If you want to see change, don’t wait and get into the arena. What is your background? I was born in Thailand, lived in the middle east for 10 years and finished my secondary school in Ireland. I am a recent graduate with degrees in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from Munster Technological University. Some of my most proudest work was around EDI, especially during my time as MTU Cork SU VP (Education) and currently working as a TA Coordinator in the cyber security sector. Who do you admire most? I admire my great grandmother the most, being born in a rice farming village in north eastern Thailand 90 years ago means it was not an easy life. She was the one who everyone leaned on for advice, support and teaches the family values. Night on Earth Documentary on Netflix. What makes you laugh? Thai comedy movies.

What is your personal mantra or motto? I’ve always loved “ Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light” . Although Dylan Thomas was talking about mortality, I like to think it’s also about being tenacious, and never taking no for an answer. It could also be about the clocks going back in October... What are your hobbies? I love collecting antiques, and have a passion for late 18th century furniture. I love the buzz of a country house auction in the summer – an auction is like dating I suppose; sometimes you don’t quite know what you’re looking for until you see it, sometimes you fall for something that’s completely out of your league, but then sometimes you bring home the thing you subsequently realise you couldn’t live without. What makes you laugh? People who take themselves too seriously – and those with ‘notions’ as they say in Cork!

Darren Fitzgerald Legal Officer

What is your personal mantra or motto? Life is for living, enjoy the present, forget about the past although learn from it, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow! What did you study? Well, I was a plumber in a past life but due to a serious car accident, could not continue and followed my real passion for the law and studied BCL (Hons) in UCC. Who do you admire most? Tough one, I have so many but I would have to say my mother. Rearing 8 kids while my dad worked crazy hours and on limited funds (we are not what you would consider a well to do family). She is an inspiration to me and always supported me in everything I did and do. Coming out was so easy to her it was nearly anti-climatic.

Evan Murphy Keogh Communications Officer

What is your personal mantra or motto? Bi Ullamh (Be Prepared) What are your hobbies? Running, outdoor activities & travelling!

What is your background? On Zoom you mean ;-) I am a supply chain professional but I come from over ten years of retail management before that. What did you study? Supply Chain & Business (just finished my degree) Who do you admire most? No, one person, but people who can really listen and explain something constructively. They have so many skills needed in everyday life. What are your biggest achievements? Helping to set up LGBT employee resource groups and social groups across the country. What makes you laugh? Spontaneous acts. I love being surprised.
