Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park Recreation Center It’s been a week of fun at the Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park Recreation Center! 13 talented participants got to create and take home their own unique Resin Creations. The gym was a hub of activity, with 99 pickleball players and clinic attendees, 4 dedicated walking fitness participants, and 10 basketball enthusiasts hitting the courts. Our self- paced programs continue to draw interest—97 guests used the fitness room, 3 dancers for Line Dancing, and 9 gathered for games of Mahjong. We've also welcomed a couple more instructors to lead some classes such as Latin Dance Workout with 4 eager participants. Senior Games is off to a great start with 16 participants this week! We're definitely looking forward to our upcoming events such as Table Tennis, Disc Golf, and Golf. JM Berlin Rotary Skate Park Last week at the J.M.B Rotary Skatepark we had 78 skateboarders and 40 BMXers visit the park.

South County Regional Park Recreation Center
The Recreation Center was full of energy this week! Pickleball kept the courts buzzing with 99 players serving up friendly competition and maybe a few questionable line calls (all in good fun, of course). FlexFit Balance welcomed 9 participants who worked on strength and stability — proving that staying upright can, in fact, be a workout. Meanwhile, Mahjong gathered 9 players for a mix of sharp strategy, quick thinking, and just enough table talk to keep things interesting.
South County Regional Park hosted 172 Pickleball enthusiasts and 43 Basketball players in the gym this week. 6 fun gentlemen brought their Remote-Control planes to fly high indoors. The Community Garden is in full effect and plantings have started going it. Pilates saw 6 while the fitness center had 4 use the equipment. 16 Homeschool kids took part in soccer week during Homeschool PE.
South County Regional Park Pool
South County Regional Park Pool had a lovely week filled with swim teams, Charlotte High PE class, and the community! The lifeguards kept the 82 Patrons fit during water aerobics while 338 enjoyed the pool during recreational and lap swim.

Centennial Park Recreation Center
Centennial Park Pool As outdoor temperatures cooled down, Centennial Park Pool continued to heat up with activity last week! A dedicated group of 298 lap swimmers kept their momentum strong, powering through the crisp air with determination. 116 recreational swimmers embraced the cooler weather with smiles and splashes, proving that fun in the water isn’t just for hot days. And with 72 water aerobics participants moving and grooving in the fresh fall breeze, the pool remained a lively hub of wellness and community spirit. No matter the season, Centennial Park Pool is where energy stays high and the good times keep flowing! It was a fantastic week in the water for our local swim stars! Sea Dragon Aquatics made waves with 118 swimmers diving into practice with enthusiasm and team spirit. 140 Port Charlotte High School swimmers showed up strong, putting in the work and representing their school with pride. And let’s not forget the 2 dedicated divers, soaring with skill and style as they took to the boards. From powerful laps to graceful dives, it’s clear—this community is full of talent, energy, and a love for the sport!
This week, Centennial Park was full of laughter and Halloween spirit as we hosted our Single-Day Halloween Camp! Kids had a blast painting pumpkins, decorating spooky (and delicious!) cookies, and competing in festive games like the mummy relay race. The park was buzzing with creativity, teamwork, and smiles all around. Everyone left with fun memories and a little frosting on their fingers! We can’t wait to welcome our campers back for more seasonal fun at Centennial Park!

Harold Avenue Regional Park Recreation Center The Harold Avenue Regional Park Rec 2U Family Field Day was a successful, super fun day! We had approximately 65-70 patrons come out and participate. The sack races and Tug of War were the favorites of the day. It was a great way to Get Up, Get Out and Get Active. Next year will be bigger and better! The rec center did not disappoint this week either. We saw patrons getting active here inside the rec with our drop-ins and classes. There were 105 for pickleball, 73 for basketball, 23 for table tennis and 5 for volleyball. Silver sneakers had 47, Pilates had 6 and Zumba saw 7 getting their groove on to some upbeat, fast paced music. Walking fitness is still going strong with 12 walking the park each week. Bonsai remained steady with a committed 9 patrons coming in to tend to their trees.

Land Management
This past week staff assisted setup and break down of Englewood beach in preparation for water fest. As rainy season is starting to die down staff has been assisting with weed eating maintenance at our properties as well as trail maintenance, 2500 linear feet was maintained. There was also a wild rooster caught out at cedar point, staff also learned how to change a tire on a trailer. Oh and we found a sasquatch just hanging out!

Englewood Charlotte Public Library The weather is cooling down and the creativity is heating up at the Englewood Charlotte Library! This week we had our Drums of Unity drum circle where over 30 people came and learned how to make one awesome beat. Ms. Holly went to Myakka Elementary and brought the kiddos some fall fun that earned some smiles and the STEAM creations inspired the next Picassos. Our sewing and quilting groups continue to make amazing progress on their creations and before long we might need to invest in one of their blankets!
We got up to some monstrous fun in our Monster Scientists program on Saturday! We had foaming witch's brew, melting monsters, monster slime, and bubbling vampire's blood activities. Messy fun was had by all! Punta Gorda Charlotte Library

Port Charlotte Public Library
This week in Preschool Prep, we got down and dirty with dinosaurs and kinetic sand! Our Tiny Tots were batty for books as they sponge painted and practiced their echolocation skills while playing peek-a-boo games with mom and dad. Teens enjoyed making creepy cemeteriums, and Liberty Elementary students made cool jumping spiders. Marshall O’Donovan’s Faces in the Windows proved to be the perfect photographic viewing for the Halloween season.
A patron was very happy to adopt a celery plant from our hydroponic garden.

The Master Gardener Demonstration Garden Open House was held on Saturday October 11 . Approximately 60 residents came through to see the garden and learn about the plants. Veggie starts and educational information were given out to each participant. th
