CLICK HERE TO LISTEN Why 1/3 of LGBT older adults experience financial insecurity. Factors affecting the mental health and social connections of older adults in this community. Barriers to trust, and language we can use to encourage authentic rapport where the patient feels safe expressing needs and details about their family life.

This brief 15-minute talk from the American Medical Association reviews end-of-life care considerations for LGBTQ older adults. It provides a helpful overview of what patients in this community might be facing in the last phase of life, and ways that we can create an environment where they can authentically express who they are.

SELF-CARE RESOURCES

It's not always easy to tell whether you're experiencing workplace anxiety or symptoms of an anxiety disorder. The telltale sign? Your anxiety is limited to work. About 60% of people experience workplace anxiety. It is common, which means you can do something about it. Workplace anxiety can involve a wide range of symptoms including: Feeling better at night but worse in the morning. Feeling physically ill when thinking about work or receiving work emails or calls. Noticing your motivation shrinking. Procrastinating on work-related tasks. Feeling a sense of dread when you think about going to work. Physical symptoms such as head/neck pain, body tension, sweating palms, and consistent stomach pain or nausea.
