Arnica Your Summer saviour for aches and pains
Target relief where it hurts With Arnica, for natural pain relief *
Don’t be fooled by arnica’s dainty, daisy-like flowers – this humble herb is a potent remedy for muscle soreness, bruises and sprains .
Summer means fun runs, hikes and sunshine-filled adventures – but also the occasional bump, bruise, sore muscle or sprain. Be prepared with arnica ointment, cream or spray. Used externally, arnica is safe and effective for aches and pains, thanks to its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic compounds, helenalin and dihydrohelenalin. Arnica can also help with bursitis, tendinitis, carpal tunnel and foot pain. Bye-bye, bruises Arnica (Arnica montana) reduces bruising and speeds healing by supporting reabsorption of blood in tissues. Apply cream several times daily after a knock or fall to reduce swelling, pain and the tell-tale purple discolouration. Cure sprains With its ability to reduce inflammation and improve circulation, arnica is ideal for easing mild sprains and strains. By increasing nutrient flow and speeding removal of lactic acid and other by-products, it helps calm pain and throbbing. Treat yourself Summer can also mean long days on your feet – shopping, parties and festive events. If your feet ache and swell, soak them in cool water with added arnica
tincture, then pat them dry and apply Arnicaeze Arnica Joint & Muscle cream or gel for soothing relief. Note: Neither distilled oils or infusions made from arnica should ever be taken by mouth or used on broken skin, although a very dilute preparation of the herb may be taken as a homeopathic remedy for emotional trauma or shock resulting from injury. Also note that if you are allergic to chrysanthemums or other members of the aster
Odourless Non-greasy Cream or Gel
(Asteraceae) family, you
should avoid using arnica as it may cause a skin rash.
