What You’ll Master: • Understand the dyslexia indicators and understand impact across reading, spelling, writing, phonological processing, memory, orthographic skills, and wellbeing. • Compare dyslexia with co-occurring needs (ADHD, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, DLD). • Explore causal models and theories linked to the current definition of dyslexia. • Summarise key policies and curriculum information relevant to your role. Do I need previous specialist training to join? No — but you must have minimum Level 3 study . Open to Tutors, Teachers, TAs, LSAs, SENDCos. If you don’t have Level 3, contact us about our bridging qualification. Will I need a DBS check? Yes. Anyone working with children or young people must have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. If you’re an independent tutor, you’ll need to hold your own. We may request DBS details at any time, and support is available by emailing info@dyslexia-academy.co.uk. Are there deadlines? Course content is released weekly, but you can work at your own pace. You have up to 18 months to complete the qualification; however, we find that most tutors have completed this within 5-6 months. Don't worry, we understand that real life happens though and extensions can be granted by emailing courseenquiries@dyslexia-academy.co.uk. What are the IT requirements for this course? You’ll need a reliable high-speed internet connection and a PC or laptop for the best learning experience. Some content may not display properly on phones or tablets. Please register using your own personal or work email address, as shared or family accounts aren’t accepted under GDPR.
