PPC Spring Conference Offers Members A Virtual Taste Of Denver If not for the pandemic, members of the Paperboard Pack- aging Council (PPC) would be traveling to Denver this March for the association’s 2021 Spring Outlook & Strat- egies Conference. While the event will be held virtually, March 24-26, the folding carton industry executives in at- tendance will be treated to a virtual tour of Denver, featur- ing the city’s vibrant art scene, alongside excellent speak- ers and virtual networking. Paying special attention to topic areas that will most affect paperboard packaging today and tomorrow, the meeting program will highlight trends and news in sustain- ability, economy, industry, and leadership. To address sustainability, PPC will welcome David Feber and Daniel Nordigaarden of McKinsey & Company to discuss emerging global themes and opportunities in sustainability. Later, the American Forest & Paper Associa- tion’s Brian Hawkinson will introduce a new recycling de- sign guide for paper-based packaging. Offering perspec- tives on the industry and the economy at large, attendees will also hear keynotes from Arsen Kitch, CEO of Clearwa- ter Paper, and celebrated economist Alan Beaulieu. “Knowledge is power,” said Ben Markens, PPC presi- dent. “Through our Spring Conference, we want to arm folding carton industry executives with information to ef-

fectively navigate market challenges while being the best leaders they can be.” The leadership portion of the meeting program will center around trust. PPC will welcome to the virtual stage David Horsager, best-selling author of The Trust Edge, The Daily Edge, and the upcoming Trusted Leader. Horsag- er specializes in helping leaders and organizations drive business results through trust. The meeting will also feature a virtual exhibit hall, allow- ing boxmakers to learn about the latest technologies and products from industry suppliers. Attendees can connect in real-time or schedule appointments for later once inside a virtual booth. Additionally, the virtual platform allows PPC to offer en- terprise pricing so folding carton companies can send any number of employees for one fixed rate. Like Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheater, highlighted in the meeting’s marketing imagery, the virtual conference will serve as a stage for professional growth, inspiration, and personal connection. PPC’s mantra to “grow, promote, and protect” recogniz- es both the opportunities and challenges that exist today while maintaining an eye on the horizon. PPC has never been more integral to the health and wellbeing of North America’s paperboard packaging manufacturers.
