PROGRAMS Associate in Science in Aviation Maintenance Start your journey in aviation with a hands-on program built to launch a career in aircraft maintenance. The A.S. in Aviation Maintenance provides a strong foundation in aircraft maintenance techniques, airframe structures and engine theory — all guided by expert faculty with real-world experience. Here, you’ll learn how to troubleshoot, inspect and maintain aircraft safely and effectively, gaining practical skills that are in high demand. Whether you’re planning to enter the workforce or continue your education, this program sets the stage for success in the growing aviation maintenance field. Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance The B.S. in Aviation Maintenance equips you with an expansive, comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance operations, safety and industry best practices. Through courses in aviation maintenance fundamentals, electrical systems theory and airframe applications, you’ll develop technical expertise in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing aircraft and more. The program also integrates organizational behavior, ethics and safety principles, ensuring graduates are prepared for leadership roles. Additionally, if you hold an FAA Airframe & Powerplant Maintenance Certificate, you may be awarded up to 39 credit hours toward the bachelor’s degree.

The Department of Applied Aerospace Science is at the forefront of innovation and education in aviation and aerospace disciplines. It oversees five master’s degree programs in Aviation and Aerospace Sustainability, Aviation Cybersecurity, Aviation Maintenance, Space Operations and Space Systems, along with associate and bachelor’s degrees in Aviation Maintenance. These programs are designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the evolving aerospace industry by providing cutting-edge knowledge and hands-on experience. The department’s faculty members and adjunct professors combine decades of university teaching experience, provide invaluable insight into today’s most relevant and pressing aviation and aerospace issues, and have published widely and internationally in conferences and journals as well as commercial work and research.
