Petition In-Lieu of Filing Fee Period – Candidates may circulate the Petition In-Lieu of Filing Fee to obtain signatures that may lower the cost of the non-refundable filing fee. *Only applicable for the Assessor / Recorder office this election.

Juneteenth National Independence Day – The Registrar of Voters office will be closed. Independence Day – The Registrar of Voters office will be closed. Candidate Filing Period – Potential candidates may request and file candidate filing documents to run for various offices. Deadline for Local Candidates to Withdraw – No local candidate shall withdraw from an office that does not have an extension period after 5 p.m. on August 9, 2024. Candidate Filing Extension Period – If an eligible incumbent for an office up for election does not file candidate filing documents by 5 p.m. on August 9, 2024, there will be a five- calendar-day extension during which any candidate, other than the incumbent, may file. Deadline for Extension Period Local Candidates to Withdraw – No local candidate shall withdraw from an office that has entered the extension period after 5 p.m. on August 14, 2024. Public Examination Period – Candidate statements are available for public examination. During this period, any citizen may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring the material in the statements to be amended or deleted. Randomized Alphabet Drawing – The Secretary of State and San Bernardino County conduct a drawing of letters of the alphabet to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot. Public Examination Period for Offices with Candidate Filing Extension – Candidate statements are available for public examination at the Registrar of Voters. During this period, any citizen may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring the material in the statements to be amended or deleted.
