Salaries and Qualifications
The Qualifications section of this guide contains the required qualifications that candidates must meet for each office up for election. A person shall not be considered a candidate for, and is not eligible to be elected to, any state or local elective office if the person has been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes per Elections Code §20(a). See the specific qualifications for the offices below.
1. San Bernardino County Offices:

Qualifications: Be a registered voter of the county in which the duties of the office are to be exercised at the time of Nomination Papers are issued according to Government Code §24001. Hold a valid appraiser's certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization or acquire a temporary appraiser's certificate from the State Board of Equalization no later than 30 days after taking office according to Government Code §24002.5. Qualifications: A person must be a registered voter in the county where they reside. A person is ineligible to be a judge of a court of record unless for 10 years immediately preceding selection, the person has been a member of the State Bar or served as a judge of a court of record in this State according to Section 15 of Article VI of the California Constitution.
