Now, through a collaboration with Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA), you can transfer from the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) program at QAA to the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle in either Florida or Arizona — making you stand out from the crowd as you advance your aviation career.

Upon completing the QAA ATPL program, up to 31 credits will transfer into Embry-Riddle’s B.S. in Aeronautics on our Daytona Beach, Florida, or Prescott, Arizona, campus. Then, earn your Embry-Riddle B.S. in Aeronautics after completing as few as 89 additional credits.

Advanced Standing Credit for QCAA Licenses Advanced standing credit — the transferrable credits awarded following the completion of your ATPL license through QAA — may be applicable to the following Embry-Riddle courses:

Degree and Transfer Credit Information

At a minimum, students must complete: 25% of semester credit hours through Embry-Riddle instruction 30 semester hours completed in residence with Embry-Riddle 40 semester hours of upper-division (300- and 400-level) courses To be eligible for honors, the student must have completed at least 45 credit hours in residence at Embry-Riddle and have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA from Embry-Riddle courses. QAA conducts training, preparation and assessments related to licensing requirements through its ATPL program. Students attending Embry-Riddle through this partnership are licensed through Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). There is no expectation for students to convert their licenses to FAA certifications, nor is there a guaranteed opportunity to do so. Accreditation Embry-Riddle is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. QAA is accredited by Qatar Ministry of Education to provide Diplomas in Aviation Training fields.

Admissions Requirements

Proof of Funds for Student Visa Purposes

Embry-Riddle international admissions requirements for QAA ATPL transfer students:

International students requiring an I-20 or DS-2019 must have sufficient funds for their expenses during the entire study period. Students must submit proof of funds or a letter from QAA stating they will sponsor the student, dated no more than six months before the start of the semester and addressed to Embry-Riddle. The proof of funds or sponsorship letter must guarantee the availability of sufficient funds to cover tuition and fees, room and board, books, medical insurance and personal expenses for two semesters. The letter must include the student’s name, school ID, the specific term(s) that is/are being sponsored and specify what will be covered. The Office of International Student and Scholarly Services at Embry-Riddle can assist with the proof of funds or sponsorship letter. Insurance Requirement Embry-Riddle requires all students to carry health insurance coverage that provides coverage in the area where they are attending classes. All Embry-Riddle students are automatically enrolled in UnitedHealthcare Student Resource (UHSCR) unless they can provide alternate coverage that meets the university’s standards.

Students must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 from all colleges/universities attended. A foreign credit evaluation (FCE) is not required if a student only transfers credits from the QAA ATPL program. An FCE must be submitted if credits from outside this program or other institutions are submitted for transfer. No application fee or deposit is required for students sponsored by QAA. Students who will not graduate from an English educational system in the last two years or for whom English is not their primary language must submit official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or Cambridge scores. Preferred scores for admission are: • TOEFL – 79 on the Internet-Based Test (IBT) • IELTS – 6.0
