A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 11
It is not long now until we say goodbye to Year 11 as they head off to complete their exams. As well as continuing to prepare for the forthcoming GCSes, Year 11 are starting to prepare for the much awaited Dress Up Day event that is taking place on Tuesday 7 May. Timings for the school day are different to normal and are detailed below: 08:20 - 08:35 Arrivals, photos outside front of school 08:35 - 09:00 Tutor time 09:00 - 10:00 Period 1 (normal lesson) 10:05 - 10:50 Period 2 10:50 - 11:20 Benchball - Staff v Students 11:25 - 12:00 Dress up Day Parade in Sports Hall 12:00 - 12:10 Dismissal and Departure. We are encouraging students to follow the official school instagram page @waldegraveschool so that they can follow along with our #WaldegraveLeavers2024 campaign. All the event details and reminders will be posted there and for the next couple of weeks in the run up to the event there will be interactive polls, games and contest announcements, so do encourage your child to give us a follow so they don’t miss out! Parents and carers are also welcome to follow so you can stay in the loop as there will be live coverage of the event across our social media on the day. We are hoping this will be the best leavers event ever! As well as the excitement of the Dress Up Day, we are looking forward to welcoming parents and carers into school on Wednesday 8 May for the final Year 11 Celebration morning which is going to be a memorable and emotional time that marks the students final day in school before their exams start. Students will be given a schedule of targeted revision support sessions led by our subject staff. These will be running throughout the exam period. This year we have mapped these carefully to take place the day before an exam as far as possible to maximise the impact of these. Details will be shared through the Examinations Google classroom and sent out to families in the next few weeks. As part of the protocols once these start, students will be required to sign in and sign out of the school.
