The Best of giving back in 2016

Last year, Walters Group awarded seven scholarships to- taling $10,000 to local graduating seniors. Since 2003, the Walters Group’s annual scholarship program has awarded $83,000 to local students to help defray the cost of higher education. For the past 12 years, the Walters Group team, consisting of employees, friends and family, has participated in Relay for Life to raise funds for cancer research. Additional organizations that have benefitted from the firm’s commitment to give back have included the Food- Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Toys for Tots, The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company, American Red Cross, hurricane relief, Hab- itat for Humanity. Quality 1st Companies strives to serve the local community owner Thomas Roman, believes in helping our neighbors its just the right thing to do. Some of our recent charitable efforts include: Aberdeen Township First Aid & Rescue Squad building renovation-converted to Fiordendo Sigismondi Cliffwood Beach community Center, Quality 1st Companies donated the kitchen and playground. Sponsorship of Aberdeen Fireworks: Our sponsorship pro- vided fireworks for the Town of Aberdeen. This event in- cluded a DJ and a community baseball game. Stuff the Bus Drive with United Way: Organizing and col- lecting school supplies for children in Monmouth County. Supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Mid- dlesex County United Way Warmest Wishes Drive: Collected winter clothing for Monmouth County Children in Need.

For the 2016 holiday season, in lieu of sending holiday cards that eventually get recycled, TPD staff with the help of their families and our community members took the ini- tiative to spread cheer to people (and animals) that need a little extra attention across the Mid-Atlantic region. This program also helped members of the firm continue to fulfill one of their collective corporate values: The commitment to bettering their surrounding communities through chari- table work and giving.

Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Lee & Associates New Jersey had its Third Annual Suits for Success Drive in December 2016. The people of Lee NJ gathered more than $55,000 worth of donations for the charity.
