City Council Approves Trent Epperson as City Manager of Pearland The City of Pearland is pleased to announce the appointment of Trent Epperson as its new City Manager. Epperson has served as Interim City Manager since November 2022.
The decision from City Council to appoint Epperson to the position took place during a special meeting on Monday, May 8, and is effective immediately. “We are thrilled to have Trent Epperson as our new City Manager,” said Mayor Kevin Cole. “After conducting a thor- ough search and comparing all of the qualified candidates, it was evident that Trent possessed the right combination of skill and experience to meet our expectations. We look forward to working with him to continue building Pearland into the community of choice.” As City Manager, Epperson serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Pearland and will oversee staff organizational management, personnel appointment and removal, prepa- ration and execution of the City budget, and administration of City ordinances and policies adopted by the City Council. Epperson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position. He previously served as Deputy City Manager from October 2020 until he was asked to fulfill the role of Interim City Manager in November 2022. Prior to that, he served as the City’s Assistant City Manager (2014–2020), Director of Engineering & Capital Projects (2012–2014) and Director of Project Management (2006–2012). In all, he has dedicated 17 years of his career to the City of Pearland. “I am honored and proud to be appointed as the City Man- ager of Pearland,” Epperson said. “I am deeply committed to our community and excited to continue working with our City officials, staff and residents to achieve our goals.
