Hola Sober OCTOBER

Pledge Wisdom "As it is Rosh Hashanah, I spent my morning in the temple and have learned to tune out everything else but the words in our prayer books and in the service. Many people get turned off to religion because they take those words literally...I don't... I use them as I see fit, to bolster my spirituality and be in awe of all that is in our miraculous universe. Further, I will be sober when my family comes over for the holiday dinner in a few hours."

I'm sitting in my garden to write this. It is a glorious spring day and I live inner city so there is always a constant hum. As I sit in my silence I can hear birds singing, wind rustling in the trees the Italians over the way listening to music with their family but it isn't noise because I am sitting in my silence. I'm not afraid of silence in fact when it comes I embrace it because it's not a given that quietness means silence. I suffer from constant earworms - when you get a song stuck and it won't shift - it's there all the time - I don't think I've heard 'September' so many times in my life 😂 I can get up to the toilet during the night and there it is as soon as I open my eyes. Silence for me is truly golden.
