Daily email And for me, that's it. I'm in.
Dear Sober Queens, For those of you who danced their way through the 80s, you may remember a group called A-HA, a Norwegian new wave band formed in Oslo in 1982 . I, like many of my generation, danced to ‘Take On Me.' The other evening I heard them on the radio with one of their new songs and the lyrics really hit me to the point where I found myself singing loudly - saying - I'm in. The lyrics go as follows and feel free to fist bump the air if required, I know I did. Click here if you want to sing + fist bump early morning I'm in, Give in, Don't give up, Breathe, Don't you stop, Breathe in, Just breathe There are times, Good times after these, Whatever you want or need, Wherever you have to be, Whatever you have to believe- I'm in, Begin. Never give up, Never you stop, Don't let the forces that pull us apart, Think they can win, Just believe, What е ver they say, There is a door to a future unseen, Leading this way, Whatever you want or need, Whatever it takes to be free, Whatever you have to believe, I'm in. Begin, Whatever you think you're worth, However much you hurt Whatever you have to believe, I'm in Begin, Whatever you want or need, Whatever it takes to be free, Whatever you have to believe, I'm in, Begin. Isn't that as empowering as be damned this early in the morning, whatever it takes to be free, whatever you have to believe, I'm in, begin. .
I'm in for the hangover-free mornings. I'm in for improved loving relationships within my family. I'm in for improved loving relationships with my friends. I'm in for remembering the night before. I'm in for remembering what I went upstairs for. (I do accept this MAY never happen and has nothing to do with drinking and everything to do with hormones…) I'm in for remembering that football schedules have changed this week. I'm in for saying a clear NO when I do not want to do something. I'm in for reprimanding as a parent BECAUSE I know what I said last night. I'm in for not putting up with crap from toxic people. I'm in for exercise and creativity being in my world. I'm in for volunteering. I'm in for figuring out how BEST to volunteer and serve. I'm in for the learning I have to do. I'm in for Hola Sober Conference in 2023. I'm in for the best girlfriends ever being the ones I met in the sober space. I'm in for the kitchen dancing that sets my world on fire. I'm in for all of it. Every damn thing. I'm in for dreaming big. I'm in for doing all and I long for you to say to sobriety - ‘I’m in too.' Happy Thursday and I hope you join me this morning in saying loudly and proudly to the Universe, I'm in. Please join me in the sober dawn chorus as we say not today lady, not today. . Susan xxxxx
