John Mason were responsible for shipping a car belonging to Queen Elizabeth II in the 1950s.

How will you use your Award to promote your business going forward? It’s already doing wonders. It gives clients confidence. It opens doors with partners. It puts us in a different league.

for the submission: “I don’t move boxes, I move people’s lives - the boxes are just how it gets there.” That summed up the whole business. Describe any challenges you overcame in the process? With 140 years of material, it was tempting to go full Tolstoy. But we had to make choices - what stories showed who we are now, not just who we were. Another big challenge was tone. It’s easy to slip into “corporate voice” when you’re writing an award submission. We made a conscious effort to stay true to our voice: straight-talking, down-to- earth, warm. We also had to overcome our natural modesty. We’re a hard-working team, not flashy. So owning our success — and saying it proudly — was a bit of a learning curve. Now you’ve won an Award, what advice would you give to others thinking of applying? Be honest. Be human. Start early. And above all — tell your story. Don’t just chuck in your revenue figures and think that’s enough. Show who you are. Show the moments that define your business.

Would you consider applying again in future?

Yes - but only if we continue to earn it.

If we keep growing, innovating, and delivering exceptional work, then we’ll absolutely consider it. But we’ll never apply just for the logo. What do you consider to be the benefits of being a King’s Award holder? The credibility is off the charts. It’s the gold standard - it says you’re doing something exceptional. It has also made me more visible as a leader and raised our local profile. It has even sparked interest from schools and community groups who now want to know about careers in logistics.
