GT Engine Services, an STS Aviation Group Company, was first established in 2010 by Greg Macleod. Based near London Stansted Airport, the company delivers fast, efficient and competitively priced jet engine solutions to the global aviation industry. Over the years, the company has built a strong reputation for reliability, technical expertise and customer-focused service. GT Engine Services (GTES) specialises in three core areas: maintenance, repair, and storage. Its maintenance offering includes end-of-lease inspections, off-wing alignment checks, and a full suite of support services required during scheduled engine removals. The repair division handles complex tasks such as top case repairs, module swaps and defect rectification, all performed to the highest industry standards. The company also provides premium engine storage in a dehumidified and fully monitored facility capable of accommodating up to 150 narrow-body engines. With 24-hour Aircraft on Ground (AOG) despatch services, GTES ensures engines are ready to be deployed whenever and wherever needed. Serving over 120 clients across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia, GTES has experienced exceptional international growth, with overseas sales increasing by 245.9% over the past three years. This impressive performance reflects both the company’s commitment to excellence and the global demand for its high quality services. In 2024, GTES was acquired by STS Aviation Group, an exciting milestone that expands the company’s global reach and further strengthens
its capabilities in engine maintenance and repair. As GTES continues to grow, it remains dedicated to delivering industry-leading solutions that keep the world’s aircraft flying. Investing in future talent A vital part of GTES’s continued success lies in its commitment to developing future talent through its structured apprenticeship programme. In collaboration with Stansted Airport College, the company provides young people from the local community with a direct route into the aviation industry, offering them the opportunity to become skilled engine technicians through a combination of academic learning and practical, hands-on experience. GTES currently has ten apprentices across all three year groups, with six more set to join in August 2025, reflecting the company’s ongoing investment in local talent and dedication to building a future-ready workforce. The programme not only develops the next generation of aviation professionals, but also enriches GTES’s culture by combining fresh perspectives with established expertise, helping to keep the company at the leading edge of engine maintenance and repair. A focus on sustainable growth GT Engine Services has a formal ESG strategy, building on strong foundations in environmental responsibility, social impact and ethical governance. Sustainability initiatives already in place include solar power, battery storage, electric vehicles and
