An investment in three new 5-Aixs machines aims to support continued growth
Midland Aerospace, located in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, is part of the Calder group, a pan-European engineering group, serving a global customer base operating in the aerospace and defence, construction, healthcare, marine, nuclear, oil and gas, security, and other markets. Midland Aerospace manufactures components, assemblies and sub-assemblies supporting the global network of Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) service providers and component systems for the civil aerospace market, including passenger to freight conversions. The company holds several OEM and Tier 1 accreditations, including Europe’s largest aeronautics and space company and the world’s largest airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solution provider based in Singapore. Growth and investment The company has had significant growth over the past three years, with exports accounting for over 75% of sales in 2024. This growth is due to establishing the company’s reputation as a business that is a reliable and trustworthy partner and not just a supplier. The aim of Midland Aerospace is to collaborate with customers and provide solutions to their problems. Midland Aerospace continually evolves to ensure it can sustain near and long-term growth, evidenced by the most recent £2m investment in three new 5-Aixs machines. With the launch of Vision 2028, the company aims to reach a turnover of £30m and double the number of staff employed in the next four years. Leading the field Operating from its state-of-the-art facility, the company offers a comprehensive range of machining and fabrication activities, including 5-Axis Mill Turn, 3- and 5-Axis Milling, as well as 2-Axis and Multi-Axis Turning, supported by an extensive range of in-house surface treatments, testing and inspection.
