Oliver Valves Ltd is proud to be recognised with the King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade 2025. This prestigious honour acknowledges the company’s long-standing commitment to engineering excellence and sustained global growth. Founded in 1979 by Dr Michael Oliver OBE DL, the company remains independently owned and family-run. With over 45 years of experience, Oliver Valves has grown from a small UK business into one of the world’s leading instrumentation and pipeline valve manufacturers, with products installed on major oil, gas, hydrogen and carbon capture projects across the globe. This latest accolade is a testament not just to its export success, but to the innovation and resilience that underpin the business. In recent years, Oliver Valves has strengthened its global network by securing new distribution partners in Canada, Spain and Saudi Arabia, building on existing relationships and expanding its reach in key strategic markets. Proven solutions The company’s technical development has also continued at pace. In line with evolving environmental standards, Oliver Valves has made significant advances in low-emission technology, most notably with the introduction of its AH- certified fugitive emissions range. These valves have been independently tested to meet the most stringent leak rate classifications, aligning with the global push for cleaner, safer industrial operations. Alongside its core instrumentation and pipeline products, Oliver Valves has also invested heavily in technologies to support the energy transition. Oliver Valves now offers proven solutions for carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) applications, and has developed a range of high-integrity valves for use with hydrogen. This is a market it believes will be central to the future of global energy.
Delivering British engineering to a global stage The King’s Award recognises the strength of the company’s international trade performance, with over 70% of turnover now coming from overseas customers. But it also reflects the commitment of the entire team, whose skill and dedication enable the company to serve some of the world’s most complex and demanding projects. The team is proud to deliver British engineering to a global stage and to continue doing so from the company’s UK headquarters. This is not the first time the Oliver Valves group has been recognised at royal level. Its sister company, Oliver Valvetek – a specialist in subsea needle and ball valves – previously received two Queen’s Awards, in 2012 and again in 2022. These awards highlight the shared ethos across the group, which is to combine technical excellence with trusted, long-term partnerships. Chairman and Founder, Dr Michael Oliver OBE “This award reflects the tireless effort of our people, the loyalty of our customers and the strength of our reputation worldwide.
