ALTNAGELVIN HOSPITAL Arup opened its Belfast office in 2000 after securing its first project in the region at Altnagelvin Hospital in collaboration with the Western Trust. Continuing to work on the site to this day, Arup has delivered multiple projects with a capital value of £100m-plus, providing mechanical and electrical engineering, ICT design advice and site supervision. Arup looks forward to continuing its relationship with the Western Trust. CONNSWATER COMMUNITY GREENWAY A transformative urban regeneration project in East Belfast, seamlessly blending improved flood protection with the creation of 9km of public space, pedestrian and cycle routes, Connswater Community Greenway required a blend of urban planning, nature-based design and transport. Bringing the Belfast office
teams together, it stands as a proud testament to Arup’s commitment to total design and gave value to the local community. Developed to transform connectivity and economic opportunity for Belfast and across Northern Ireland, the project is on track to achieve BREEAM Excellent. Bringing multidisciplinary expertise across engineering, environmental and urban planning, Arup was involved in the project from its early stages.
