HARD LANDSCAPING & DRAINAGE AG Paving + Building Products was subcontracted to deliver a comprehensive hard landscaping and drainage solution for the new Sysco Ireland logistics hub at Nutts Corner. Its scope of works included the supply of Xflo permeable paving for on-site surface water management, along with kerbs, Tavira flagstones and tactile paving to enhance both functionality and accessibility across key areas of the site. CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY Albert Fry Associates is proud to have provided civil and structural engineering consultancy services to Heron Bros for the construction of Sysco Ireland’s new distribution centre. A steel-framed structure, designed for future expansion, accommodates a blast freezer, raw cooler, dry warehousing, cold dock and two-storey Grade A office accommodation. Challenges posed by variable ground conditions were economically mitigated by geotechnical remediation employing lime-stabilisation. Sustainability is a key consideration in the design, which incorporates roof-mounted solar panels, rainwater harvesting and advanced heat pump technology, as well as providing electric vehicle chargers for both staff and fleet vehicles. Dr Ruth Mitchell, Director, said, “The construction team maintained a strong focus on safety and quality throughout the project, delivering an outstanding scheme. The success is due to the close collaboration between the design and construction team, adapting to evolving requirements and ensuring the ambitious budget and timeline were met.”
