LESLEY FORESTSIDE SHOPPING CENTRE, BELFAST
ALUMINIUM SCREENS & DOORS Bann Architectural Systems supplied curtain walling screens and doors for four new-build restaurant units developed at Lesley Forestside Shopping Centre. The Banbridge-based firm supplied 13 architectural aluminium screens featuring SunGuard high-performance coated glass from supplier Metal Technology, as well as six doors. An efficient installation by Bann Architectural Systems ensured the fast-track project kept on schedule. Kyle Bowman, Director, said, “We were pleased to again partner with main contractor MSM Contracts, and always appreciate their professionalism. We will soon be working with MSM again on the next phase of development at Lesley Forestside, for which we have been subcontracted to supply and install a glazed walkway and further screens.” Operating since 2010, Bann Architectural Systems Ltd specialises in aluminium window systems, doors, curtain walling, shopfronts, roof-glazing, patio and bi-fold doors, servicing commercial and domestic markets with contracts of all sizes. Its experienced and knowledgeable staff are well equipped to deal with any project challenges.
M&E DESIGN Semple & McKillop was appointed within the client’s professional team to design and coordinate M&E services for the new-build restaurant block and shell fit out of the units. M&E services included coordinating new utility supplies to the units; new landlord external lighting; alterations to car park lighting; services to accommodate the restaurants; and SBEM for shell fit out. Semple & McKillop advised on the management and location of services, provision of ducts in the new build, duct openings for tenant fit outs and coordinating each tenant’s full requirements including incoming electricity, gas, water and telecommunications. Challenges included delivering works in an active shopping centre with high footfall and existing services which had to be kept live. Relocation of services was required and appropriately managed, including diverting existing car park lighting and CCTV services.
