We might not think in North Dakota we have an elevation issue that leads to pulmonary problems in cattle and need to pay attention to PAP but there is a direct, positive correlation between PAP and increased mortality in feedlot cattle even at moderate elevations because of stress caused by high energy feedlot rations. Cattle need to adapt and this bull’s predictions for PAP should help his feeder calf progeny to do just that in a feedlot setting.
