The ashes we receive remind us that we are small, fragile, and in need of mercy. Yet they also mark the beginning of a journey back to the Father’s embrace. Lent is a season of coming home and of turning away from self-reliance and turning toward the One who already knows us and loves us. As we begin this holy season, may our hearts move quietly but confidently toward the Father. May we seek Him not to be seen, but simply to be with Him, resting in the love of the Father who sees in secret and calls us His own.
Questions: Where is the Father inviting me to return more deeply to Him through prayer, fasting, or almsgiving?
How can these practices help me come home to His love rather than focus on outward appearances?
What would it look like this Lent to simply rest in His presence and allow Him to see my heart?
