This is our 8th annual production sale at Winter Livestock! We want to start out by thanking everyone that has shown up for us this past year, the list is long, but we appreciate each and every one of you. Our herd began as 10 head of registered red angus cows. Those cow lines run deep in our herd still today. The goal is to have an entire herd that's been built in the unforgiving plains of Southeast Colorado. The cows work hard for a living producing bulls that will work as hard for you, as you do for them. Sires Red Angus have become part of our annual sale, offering quality registered red angus bulls. They got into registered red angus in 2016. Starting as a commercial herd, it is now an all registered herd focusing on cattle that fit the Southeast Colorado environment: low maintenance, easy fleshing animals without sacrificing growth. By selecting from some well known breeders, the use of AI, and bull power, we have been able to raise some really nice cattle. All bulls have been developed on the ranch south of Granada, Colorado since weaning. They've been fed a ration that consists of ground alfalfa, sorghum silage, cracked corn and mineral with a target of 3 lbs. per day ADG. Culling starts at birth and continues until sale day. Our goal is to raise bulls that will produce steers that push down the scales and heifers that stick around in your herd for many years.
