Obituary Lance Shumaker, a long-time label and packaging in- dustry member, passed away on June 22, 2020, at the age of 66.

Shumaker, who worked with AVT (AdvancedVisionTechnology),Gidue, Scodix, and most recently AB Graph- ic International, passed following a two-year battle with ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
In 1985, Lance and his wife of 39 years Sharon moved to Kennesaw, Georgia, where he began his long ca- reer in the printing industry, later making their home inWoodstock, Georgia. Shumaker spent more than 34 years with several printing companies, advancing from a national sales manager to vice president of sales, to president of sales, and ultimately senior executive. He spearheaded the start-up Indigo, and advanced his career with a 15- year leadership role with AVT. Lance Shumaker

Allstein Kurt Flathmann has retired as Head of Sales in North America for Allstein. Flathmann has been in the packaging industry for 47 years, the last 8 years working for Allstein. He started ini- tially at Pamarco, then went to Bobst Champlain, then Fischer & Krecke, then Bobst when they bought F&K, and finally participated in starting up Allstein. His background includes general management, sales, and service with emphasis on flexographic presses and an- cillary press equipment.
