The STAR reference chart ranking our bulls with a STAR RATING gives you a quick guide using the data we receive from the American Simmental Association and genetic history of their dams. You will find the Star system explanation on page 7. The sale heifers we selected were developed whether they stayed at home or were offered for sale, meaning they were selected from top cow families. They have been ultrasounded for pregnancy with calving dates and calf sex is determined if old enough at ultrasound date in August. The heifers have been DNA tested for parentage, coat color, dilution gene, and polled status. Many heifers are AI bred and have been vaccinated with the same protocol as our replacement heifers, with ViraShield 6 VL5-HB, ScourBoss or Guardian and poured with CleanUp. With the larger offering, the genetic value has many options whether it be calving ease, color, performance, etc. and the #1, maternal! This is what raises quality cattle. We welcome you to view the bulls and heifers at the Staigle and Hansen ranches prior to the sale, then the cattle will be moved to Kist Livestock in Mandan on Feb 17th with SALE DAY FRI - DAY FEBRUARY 20th. The sale will be broadcasted on www.dvauction.com the day of the sale.
