Winter Greetings! General Manager’s MESSAGE
MANAGEMENT TEAM
Culinary will be offering a cooking class on Thursday the 19 teaching the techniques of fresh pasta making. Attendance is limited to a dozen members – no guests. These opportunities always fill quickly. th How is your progress on meeting those pesky New Year’s Resolutions? If your goal for the New Year includes the phrase “drop a few pounds” or “get in shape”, we are here to help. Personal training and Group Exercise programs are available seven days a week. There is no better time to tackle that resolution than now and no more comfortable place than at your club! Don’t know how to get started? Anyone on our fitness team can help. Don’t forget to cap off a great workout with a great massage. You owe it to yourself! The next item is to remind those members who have not yet met their food minimum that you have until March 31 to do so. Please do not wait until the final week. If you fail to fulfill this obligation, the balance will be charged to your account. Please don’t ask for relief or special consideration – none can be given. Additionally, if you wish to change your food minimum option (pre-paid annual or pay-as-you-go semiannual) now is the time! st In the next few weeks, all members will be receiving an outline of the many opportunities to celebrate your club’s 125 Anniversary. When received, you will see that the schedule centers around the first weekend after Memorial Day. This coincides with the first “meeting of the subscribers” that was held on May 27, 1901. Especially important will be to save the date of Saturday May 30 to attend the club’s signature celebration event. You won’t want to miss it. th th As always, the fitness room, golf simulator, squash courts and indoor racquets courts are open seven days a week. Outdoors, paddle or a walk around the hiking path provide a chance to enjoy some fresh air. The Club’s dining facilities are open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch/dinner and take-out remains a popular option.

And what a winter it is turning out to be. Let’s begin with a special “thank you” to our grounds team who have done a simply marvelous job at keeping our parking lots, walkways and facilities open and available. Sure, it’s their “job” but they have gone above and beyond what would be required in any normal year, and their effort is worthy of recognition. They display the same pride in clearing snow as they do in providing great golf conditions. Well done! Even though all the teams from our region failed to advance to the big game, on Sunday the 8th, the Super Bowl will be on every screen in Pub37. We’ll be having a “watch party”, complete with drink specials and football fare. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy. We already have a couple of “square boards” available to add to the fun. Can’t join us for the big game? We understand. Over the past few years, we have also seen an increase in the amount of food carried out for those who are either attending or hosting a house party. We are featuring a special menu that includes all your “football favorites”. There is still time to place your order . . . just give us a call. Setting Super Bowl Sunday aside, the most important social event of the month is always Valentine’s Day. The 14 falls on a Saturday this year. We are featuring a special “sweethearts” dining experience that is complete with all the details to create the perfect setting to share with that “special someone”. Of course, the entire evening is centered around the wonderful menu that Chef Tip has developed. Seating is limited to the first 80 people and because it is held in the Dining Room cannot be expanded. So far, there are still a few spots available, but we expect that will change and we will end up on a waiting list. When that happens, don’t get discouraged. If history is a guide, cancellations will occur, and we are typically very successful in accommodating many of those on the list. Of course, the Grill/Tavern is also available as a back-up option. th
