Tyler DeLargie by Peri Hayes LOCAL MUSICIAN PROFILE
Tyler DeLargie has been dedicated to playing music for around 13 years, professionally for four. “I was influenced by music from a very young age,” he recalls. “My grandfather on my dad’s side, Doug, played acoustic guitar and sang. My grandmother on my mom’s side played piano and sang with her twin sister, Janette and Joan.” Tyler expresses how much these influences during his upbringing have shaped him into the continuously growing musician he is today. “If you come to a Tyler DeLargie show,” the artist invites, “You will hear some old classics, like Johnny Cash and Kenny Rogers. You will also hear new stuff, like Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen. Most importantly, you will be able to hear all of my original songs and some unreleased tunes, as well.” This multifaceted musician has the ability to accompany his captivating vocals with the acoustic guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, piano and ukulele. “I can’t pinpoint a specific thing that excites me, because everything does,” Tyler earnestly discloses. “It could be putting my thoughts down on a piece of paper, or stepping up on stage to do a gig for a local bar or venue. Everything about this career path makes me believe that it is what I am meant to do.” While detailing his musical ambitions, Tyler shares, “I have been working very hard on my music, and getting out there for everyone to hear. That was a very big goal of mine, and I can slowly feel myself achieving that goal. My next and biggest goal is to keep putting out songs that people can jam to, sing along to and enjoy just as much as I do.”
Tyler joyously announces: “Keep an eye on my social media pages to see upcoming shows, and contact the accounts with inquiries about booking.” To connect with Tyler, explore his social media pages at “TylerDeLargieMusic” and visit the tylerdelargie.com website -- with the QR code included above for access to his Apple Music and Spotify. Tyler graciously concludes, “Thank you so much to this town for giving me the love and support to make a move with my music. Sometimes it gets difficult, very difficult, but it seems like this town is a big ball of energy that picks me back up to remind me not to give up, so my final wish is to thank St. Thomas.”
