Railyards Brewfest: Wicked Circus! by Peri Hayes Lindsey Massecar, CASO Railway Station and Elgin County Railway Museum’s Events and Hospitality Coordinator, discusses the upcoming Railyards Brewfest: Wicked Circus. She enthusiastically offers, “Our Events and Hospitality Manager, Ashley, and I decided that we would like to keep the Elgin County Railway Museum’s annual beer festival alive for another season. It has been rebranded for 2024 as Railyards Brewfest: Wicked Circus. We think this has been a fun event in the community, and are excited to host another successful year!” “The event will feature a variety of craft beverage vendors from around Southwestern Ontario,” Lindsey highlights. “Each ticket will include a 12 oz sample glass and sample tickets. Guests can redeem tickets for beverage samples.” Paired with an aroma of delicious craft brews will be their anticipated dark circus theme. This will entail magnificent sideshow acts, including contortionists, fire spinners and stilt walkers from Articus Productions Inc. Live musical entertainment and an array of local vendors will also participate in this exquisite community celebration. Saturday, September 14th will debut this revamped Railyards Brewfest at Elgin County Railway Museum, 225 Wellington Street. Tickets are available for two event times, with the first scheduled from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm and the second from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Lindsey details, “There is also the option to purchase a ‘Stay All Day’ VIP pass, which will give ticket holders access to the event for the full day.” As Lindsey proceeds to express, “We are excited to bring the dark circus atmosphere to this event, and to include so many amazing

vendors! We truly want to bring the theme alive, while being able to showcase the talented local craft beverage producers.” Furthermore, guests are encouraged to dress the part, to which Lindsey continues, “We would love to see your best dark circus gear!” Proceeds for this event will be directed toward the restoration and continued maintenance of the CASO Railway Station and the Elgin County Railway Museum.
