Books Picks for Fall! by Nadine Poulos, Manager, Customer Engagement & Collections While I enjoy reading in all the seasons, there is something special and comforting about reading in the fall. The feeling of a good book, a cozy sweater, and a warm drink creates the perfect scene that makes autumn reading extra special. If you’re looking for some great books to enjoy this season, here are a few recommendations. The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich (October 1, 2024) A much-anticipated novel from Pulitzer prize-winning Minne- apolis writer Louse Erdrich comes out in October. Known for her richly drawn casts of characters and intricate plots that explore the seemingly ordinary lives of her characters, Erdrich’s newest work is set in a changing farming community in North Dakota. The novel explores themes of love, family, and loss, delivering the deep and moving novel that her fans expect. The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer (November 19, 2024) The author of Braiding Sweetgrass, Robin Wall Kimmerer, offers a new short and sweet non-fiction work that inspires readers to anchor their lives in gratitude, reciprocity, and community and encourages a deeper connection with earth and its abundance. Robin Wall Kimmerer gives the reader these insights based on her experiences learned as an Indigenous scientist focused on the natural world. The War We Won Apart: The Untold Story of Two Elite Agents Who Became One of the Most Decorated Couples of WWII by Nahlah Ayed (May 28, 2024)

If you missed this nonfiction spring release, now is the perfect time to catch up with it. Nahlah Ayed tells the true story of a British woman and a French-Canadian man who met as agents in Winston Churchill’s secret army. Through extensive research of unpublished interviews and archival documents, Ayed writes a beautiful book to explore. Fall is also the season when many of our favourite authors release new works.
