This fall, we should also notice a difference in traffic issues along Fiddlers Green Road for our students at Oakridge Secondary School and West Oaks French Immersion School, with the installation of permanent speed cushions. Here’s wishing a healthy and safe return to school and a fantastic season ahead!
by Steve Lehman, Ward 8 London City Councillor, slehman@london. As we say goodbye to another wonderful summer, we find ourselves getting excited for the beginning of the school year and fall season ahead.
Over the past few months, we got to enjoy some free community activities hosted by the City of London through Play Your Way, free swim and BBQ events from the Oakridge Optimists, Oakridge Pride, and free golf for kids 13 and under in celebration of the Thames Valley Gold Courses centennial anniversary – just to name a few. Although this summer brought lots of days of sunshine, we also saw a few days of extraordinary rainfall causing quick grass growth and noticeable flooding throughout the entire city. I know the summer brought traffic challenges with construction, but it’s for the upgrades of sewers that our crews are working on to separate stormwater and sewage to mitigate future severe rainfall we are witnessing. I was happy to see the much-needed repaving work on Riverside Drive and Sanatorium Road getting a much-needed rework, not to mention the reconstruction of Prince Phillip Court. I will continue to advocate for other roads in our area that need paving repair such as Manchester.

Thank a Farmer – Shop Local The Masonville Farmers Market is open Fridays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, until October 11th. They are located in the large parking lot across from Sport Chek at Masonville Mall (Fanshawe and Richmond).
