SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS Conditions of Competition

1. STABLING. All stalls are approximately 12’x12’ with full closing doors. Stalls will be available Thursday September 11 at 8:00am and must be vacated no later than midnight Sunday September 14. No first bedding will be furnished. Early arrivals will be charged $50 per day, per stall.

2. ARENAS are a combination of sand and soil. Arena is150’x250’. For Early Arrivals, Lungeing & Warm-up arenas open Wednesday, September 10. Show Arena opens Thursday, September 11.

3. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.

4. THE HORSE SHOW COMMITTEE reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the show, without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Any questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Committee, consisting of the Competition Managers and the Horse Show Secretary. 5. ALL ENTRIES are accepted with the understanding that the Labor Day Classic Horse Show, HITS Del Mar Horsepark Leasing LLC, and Southern California Horsemans Council will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Horse Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by any animal owned and exhibited by him, and shall indemnify Labor Day Classic Horse Show, HITS Del Mar Horsepark Leasing LLC, and Southern California Horsemans Council against any and all loss, damage and liability thus occasioned including but not limited to any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of any entry form shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the provisions herin set forth. 6. ALL OWNERS AND EXHIBITORS will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to barns or other properties on the show grounds and will be billed accordingly.

7. IN ADDITION TO ENTRIES of persons suspected or expelled from the Federation, the Recognized competition may refuse any entry of an exhibitor or the participation of any agent, trainer, rider, driver or handler who has shown an objectionable attitude towards this Recognized competition or previous unsportsmanlike behavior at a Recognized competition or to its management.

8. MANAGEMENT reserves the right to cancel, consolidate or split classes depending upon entries received at the closing date.

9. THE HORSE SHOW COMMITTEE reserves the privilege of substituting or changing judges if it becomes necessary. The Judges’ decision in the show ring are their own responsibility and the Show Committee accepts no responsibility for these decisions. 10. PRE ENTRIES CLOSE SEPTEMBER 1. ANY ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER SEPTEMBER 1 WILL BE ASSESSED A $100.00/HORSE POST ENTRY FEE. ALL ENTRIES REQUIRE A $100.00 DEPOSIT UPON RECEIPT. PLEASE PROVIDE CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ON ALL ENTRIES. ENTRIES MAY BE PAID BY CREDIT CARD, CHECK, OR CASH. ENTRIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE SUBMITTED ON SHOWGROUNDSLIVE.COM. FOR ASSISTANCE WITH ONLINE ENTRIES, PLEASE CALL SHERRI 619-672-4503 OR SCOTT 760-525-8955. 11. REFUNDS. Full refunds will be given if written notice is received by the Show Secretary before the closing of entries. Exhibitors scratching a horse for any reason after the official closing date shall forfeit all entry, stall and association fees, UNLESS a valid Veterinarian’ s or Doctor’ s certificate of disability for entered horse/rider is submitted to the Horse Show Secretary prior to the first event of the horse show, in which case a $100 fee will be assessed. If illness or injury after the start of the show should prevent exhibitor’s participation in the balance of entered classes, a refund of unused classes will be made, less a $100 office fee, providing the balance of classes are officially scratched and a doctor’s certificate is provided within 48 hours of the close of the show. Stall and association fees will not be refunded. 12. PENALTY. There will be a penalty of $100.00 if a check is returned. No checks will be processed through the bank a second time, and must be covered by a money order, cashier’s check or cash in addition to the penalty. There will be a penalty of $100.00 for any credit card charge backs.

13. PRIZE MONEY CHECKS will be credited on show bill. $250-$500 Stake classes must have 3 to pay. $1000 Stake classes must have 4 to pay.

14. NUMBERS. No competition #s will be released by show office until all entry blanks are COMPLETE and deposit has been applied.

15. FEED AND BEDDING. NO FIRST BEDDING will be provided. Only shavings can be used for bedding purposes. Exhibitors must leave an open check with the horse show office, payable to SCHC. To order ahead, please call 760-525-8933. Pre-ordered feed and shavings may not be returned.

16. TRAINERS wishing to split the payment of their tack rooms and feed/bedding must fill out forms provided by the horse show office, no later than September 12.

17. PETS MUST BE LEASHED AND CONFINED TO BARN AREA.

18. Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for penalties against those responsible for the child committing the offense. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. The unsafe use of personal electronic transport devices, as determined by the competition officials and management in their sole discretion, that do not require a driver’s license to operate, including but not limited to segways, hover boards, and single wheeled scooters is prohibited on competition grounds. Operating such devices in areas where people gather may be deemed “unsafe use” if there is a risk of harm to others. If the operator of the device is a minor, the parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating the device in violation of this rule is accountable and may be subject to penalties. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 19. PARKING. Fire regulations prohibit exhibitor vehicles including cars, trailers, vans and campers from being parked in barn areas. Designated parking will be posted. There will be no exceptions and violators will be towed away at owner’ s expense.

USEF Membership Statement Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Modified Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, or agent at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes

The top four riders must be worked individually; more may be worked at the judge’s discretion. The mandatory workout is “Trot a serpentine to the opposite end of the ring; return down the rail at a trot.” All riders must be registered with the UPHA. In order to qualify for year end medal finals a rider must ribbon 1st - 6th. A rider may continue to ride in the medal throughout the year for High Point Medal Rider of the year. 2025 Medal Finals to take place at Jingle Bell Dec 4-7, 2025.

RANCH RIDING - OPEN BREED DIVISION | USEF NON RATED

Ranch horse should work at a forward working speed, simulating a horse riding outside of an arena. Patterns typically call for many transitions, walk, extended walk, jog/trot, extended jog/trot, lope, extended lope, as well as any combination up or down. Other maneuvers that may be asked for is trot over logs, spins, side-passes, backing and lead changes. The horse should perform these maneuvers softly, smoothly and efficiently. Scoring is on a O-100 point scale with 70 being an average performance. Riders should not wear bling on their clothes or excess silver on their tack. Chaps are not required, but chinks are very popular. As for the horse, tail extensions, braided manes, and tails, black polish on hooves and clipping inside the ears are not allowed. Leg wraps and boots are not used, but breast collars and rear cinches are encouraged

DIVISIONAL CLASS INDEX ACADEMY DIVISION | NON USEF RATED

Rules for the Academy Division 1.Horses are NOT judged. Horses in the Academy classes MUST be lesson horses used regularly in a professionally operated academy program. These horses must display the characteristics of such. 2.All Academy classes are to be judged on the ability of the RIDER to control and show their horses to the best advantage. 3. Academy Equitation classes are judged on BASIC equitation skills with correct diagonals and leads. 4. Academy Showmanship classes should be judged on the rider’s horsemanship abilities. The horse is NOT to be judged. It should be judged on the rider’s ability to control and show their horse. Promptness in finding the correct diagonals and canter leads are important as well as the rider’s command of the horse. For example: speed, placement in the ring and collectiveness. Riders 5.No full riding suits. Helmets are preferred over derbies. Jackets are not allowed. 6.Riders must be participating in a professionally operated lesson program and show on lesson horses. 7.A rider may own his/her horse as long as the horse is REGULARLY used in the lesson program. 8.A rider may not cross enter between the academy and show division at this show. 9.Once a rider has shown in a walk/trot/canter class at this or any horse show, they may not enter a walk and trot only class. Horses 1.Horses in the Academy classes MUST be lesson horses regularly used in a professionally operated lesson program. Horses are not to be judged. 2.Horses MUST be flat/keg shod. Corrective shoeing will be allowed WITHOUT excessive pads. Soundness is not to be considered. 3.Horses may be shown in snaffles and martingales or full bridles. 4.Saddles correct to the discipline are to be used. 5.Academy Horses may cross enter in the show division at this show. Show horses (horses not used regularly in a professional lesson program and show regularly in the show performance or equitation classes) may NOT cross enter in the Academy division. 6. Hoof blacking is optional. Braiding is not allowed. 6.Horses should be owned or leased by the instructor or lesson program. 7.Horses in training will not be allowed. 8.No tail sets allowed. Chains or other action devices must not be used on the show ground.

FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT USEF LITE COMPETITION

By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules of DIAMOND JUBILEE HORSE SHOW. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensa- tion, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4. If not currently a USEF Active Competing member or Subscriber, I acknowledge and agree that I will be enrolled at no cost as a USEF Fan and my USEF Fan Account will continue to annually automatically renew unless USEF determines in its sole discretion to terminate my status as a Fan. Additionally, I acknowledge that the benefits of a USEF Fan are subject to change without notice. USEF may in its sole discretion, at any time, terminate my USEF Fan status. BY SIGNING BELOW, I AGREE that I have read, understand, and agree to be bound by all applicable Federation Bylaws, rules, and policies including the USEF Safe Sport Policy and Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) as published at www.usef.org, as amended from time to time, as well as all terms and provisions of this Prize List.
