PERSON SPECIFICATION: • A track record in delivering capital construction projects with values of between £2M to £15M through the full project lifecycle ideally with focus on Education, Healthcare or Heritage buildings from either client-side or consultancy organisations. • Excellent communication and influencing skills. • Strong leadership skills. • A natural collaborator, working cross functionally and at all levels, internally and externally. • Substantial experience in programme and project management on construction projects with values in excess of £5m. • Experience of delivering refurbishments on listed or heritage buildings and associated public realm projects. • Ability to manage strategic programmes of work on a number of consecutive projects. • Experience of financial management across a wide range of project budgets, with proven analytical skills and the ability to collate financial and other information from a range of sources, analyse it, draw conclusions, and propose solutions. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Essential • Experience of construction contracts, contract management and procurement practices relating to project and service delivery. • Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships, with the ability to communicate clearly, WHO YOU ARE
confidently, and persuasively with people at all levels both orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate complicated technical issues to non- technical audiences. • Experience of Modern Methods of Construction. • Ability to build effective relationships with, and command the respect of, a wide range of stakeholders, including senior staff members, influencing as necessary to resolve conflict. Desirable • Experience of working with multiple projects across a live estate. • Experience of working within the Independent Education, Higher Education, Healthcare or Heritage sectors. RELEVANT SKILLS: • Responsible for co-ordinating planning, development, delivery, implementation and organising complex construction programmes. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Strong influencing and negotiation ability. • Attention to detail. • Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines whilst under pressure. • Strong verbal and numerical reasoning ability. EDUCATION AND TRAINING • Degree educated (or equivalent in a built environment subject). • Professionally recognised project management related qualification such as MRICS, MCIOB or CHPP.
