THE ROLE
The main focus of the job is to provide high quality project management for the implementation and delivery of a range of key complex and/or major capital projects within the School’s Masterplan and Infrastructure programme. These will include new build construction and refurbishment of academic buildings and student facilities, generally valued in the range of £2m - £15m. The post-holder will also support the Estate Bursar to work with stakeholders to develop an initial project plan, resource plans, the production of feasibility studies, cost estimates and investment appraisals; professional and strategic advice/planning and management of programmes of work.

Stakeholder Engagement • Identify and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and networks, collaborating and influencing decisions on areas affecting projects, identify and manage project dependencies; work to identify priorities and jointly ensure that the most appropriate way is found for the priorities to be met. • Engage with stakeholders to shape the project. • Work with stakeholders, providing complex, conflicting, and technical
information and ensuring technical information is understood and used to inform decisions. • Ensure stakeholder training is considered as part of the project plan and undertake all necessary stakeholder training. • Coordinate project service and business readiness activities via a transition plan. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and Deliver the Project • Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including scope, timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships, training, and communication. • Develop and implement a rigorous project planning process and ensure it is delivered by appropriate competent parties. • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate risk assessments, method statements and project management documentation are complete and the clients’ duties are met under CDM regulations. Procurement and Contract Management • Undertake project procurement activity. • Manage supplier contracts connected to the project delivery. Project Leadership and Management • Leading a team of Consultants and Contractors to programme, budget and quality expectations. • Ensure projects are managed in line with the School’s project management methodology. • Experience of delivering projects within values of between £5m-20m. • Responsible for the delivery of designated Capital Projects on a live operational educational site; to programme, budget and quality expectations.
MAIN DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Management and other Technical Duties • To take responsibility for the planning, implementation, and management of key projects within the masterplan and infrastructure programme, including co- ordination of activities; managing and monitoring consultants, and contractors to deliver projects within scope, on time and within budget. • Establish meetings structure for Project Working Groups, Project Monitoring Groups, and design team meetings, etc. Lay down procedure for organising, convening and chairing meetings, and being responsible for the recording and monitoring of these meetings, including circulation of relevant information.
