Grace Therapy Center opened in 2021 in order to provide families with a comprehensive and collaborative approach to therapy. Now, only three years later, the center has expanded to three locations covering the Baton Rouge, Prairieville, and Denham Springs areas. Despite the expansion, the mission has remained the same: change lives. Katie Jenkins, the Executive Director of Grace Therapy Center, shares, “Our mission is to change lives and that includes employees, parents, families, and the kids that we work with. From parent training, all the way through the therapy that we offer, we have that mission in mind.” Grace Therapy Center provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy and family education, and works with children on their social skills throughout the school year and in camps they provide throughout the summer.
“Some of these kids come to us not talking, so we work all the way through those basic skills and even prerequisites, all the way through getting them ready to go to kindergarten or first grade. We only offer ABA right now, but we allow speech, OTs, and PTs to come in and have a space to work with them as well,” says Jenkins. The staff at Grace Therapy agree that seeing the children thrive each day is a highlight of their work. Along with that, seeing the relief the parents experience through the services the center provides is also special for those involved. “The best part is to see the relief in the parents, and also, the kids make such progress that it feels magical sometimes. It never loses its luster. It’s definitely something that you never get over,” says Jenkins.
