FACT FINDING MISSION TO PENANG 23-24 July 2020, Penang
The main purpose of the mission was to gain insights and perspectives from the industrial sector, in the development of the New Industry Master Plan (NIMP) currently developed by MIGHT for MITI. Engagement sessions were also made with First Solar and YOUTech at their respective premises under strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) adherence. Dato’ P’ng Soo Hong of First Solar shared on the current challenges faced by the solar energy industry amidst the global pandemic and how they are coping and striving further to ensure business continuity. To gather feedback from the automotive sector in Penang, meetings were held with several multi national corporations including Clarion, Bosch and Continental. On the final leg of the trip was a visit to YOUTech. YOUTech provides solutions to improve data security and confidentiality using encryption technology.
