“THE DEVELOPMENT OF RAIL STANDARDS” -WEBINAR WITH SIRIM AND DEPARTMENT OF STANDARDS 5 & 20 November 2020, via online The development of rail standards is to support the national transport policies that prioritise local content and strive for an industrial sustainability in public transport. MARIC together with SIRIM, Standards Malaysia, MIGHT and agencies such as MATRADE and MIDA as steering committee developed the Malaysian rail standards aimed at penetrating the South East Asian export market. This is especially so for the Southeast Asian and global markets, where Malaysian rail standards can have a positive impact on the supply of technology, services and collaborative ventures. This is especially impactful for local companies with proven track record and demonstrated effectiveness. The standards are based on 36 rail standards developed by Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD).
