ADVANCING THE MACHINERY & EQUIPMENT (M&E) INDUSTRY SECTOR 26 February 2020, MIGHT

MIGHT has been entrusted by MITI to conduct studies for the New Industrial Master Plan in which machinery & equipment (M&E) industry is one of the focus sectors. An industrial policy workshop was conducted by MIGHT together with key stakeholders represented by Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), SME Corp, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF), SME Bank, Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation

(MISIF), ViTrox Technologies, Malaysian Special Tooling and Machining Association (MSTMA), Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI), AllianceCorp Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and VisDynamics. The workshop includes a stocktake on the current and upcoming issues and challenges faced by the industry and provide consensus building platform to review policy matters to drive industry development for the M&E sector through 2030. Gaps in the industry were identified and stakeholders provided recommendations to address the constraints.

CORONAVIRUS MOBILE TESTING UNIT (COMBAT) 13 April 2020, Kota Kemuning, Selangor

MIGHT provided strategic advisory role encompassing technical and commercial know-how to the local Pro Bono teamduring the initial development of Coronavirus Mobile Testing Unit (COMBAT). The COMBAT provides advantages to the medical team in conducting swab tests for the public at mass volume within the targeted zone in a safe manner to avoid the spreading effect among medical frontlines. These units have been deployed at a few medical facilities including private hospitals and medical centers.
