DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS
17 & 21 August 2020, via online
Today as the economy operates in real time, the transport and logistic sectors need to step up efficiency to meet customer needs, growing interdependence between processes and along the value chain while mitigating associated risks. How does each industry strategise and improve its processes by incorporating IoT, machine learning, autonomous capabilities and digital twins, among others? COVID-19 as a game changer is catalytic to many industries including transport and logistics to adopt or further improve on online communications, online transactions, remote working flexibilities and manufacturing and service processes. In the event of other equally disruptive threats, how do industries prepare themselves e.g. increase in cyber security breaches? How has digital transformation improved transport and logistics and how can it further strengthen the 3Cs of Competitiveness, Connectedness and Capabilities? TechnoMart Malaysia delved into the issue of digital transformation as essential in driving the efficiency of the transport and logistic sectors. The two webinar sessions involved experts in the field of Automotive, Shipping, Rail, Aerospace and Logistics, as well as participation from Lux Research to give a global perspective on the subject matter. The discussion focused on the experiences and aspirations on how digital transformation and 4IR in general can make an industry and the industry players more efficient and productive, whilst looking at the current challenges and what can be expected or anticipated in the future.
