MIGHT together with its members and partners are committed to a continuous initiative in the development of Biomass to Energy (BTE) Programme . Its main agenda is to create a Sustainable Ecosystem for Malaysia by adding new clean megawatt (MW) capacity from biomass waste, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to the atmosphere and contributing towards achieving the sustainable development goals (SDG) commitments. The programme will also create new job opportunities especially for young graduates and researchers. With this agenda in mind, a Master Strategic Partnership Agreement (MPSA) for Biomass to Energy which involves five parties namely MIGHT, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), TNB Energy Services Sdn Bhd (TNBES), EMOG Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd (ERESB) & WILGATE Sdn Bhd was signed. This Master Strategic Partnership Agreement (MSPA) signifies the cooperation and commitment of the key integrated stakeholders in carrying out the development of ‘Re-imaging National Biomass to Energy’. MSPA will enable the stakeholders to jointly work on a comprehensive feasibility study in identifying BTE projects nationwide. This is an affirmation to the long-term target of ‘Re-imaging of Palm Oil Industry for Sustainable Global Competitiveness’ in line with the new National Energy Policy 2040.
