ENERGY STORAGE DEVELOPMENT AS KEY TO A DECARBONISED ECONOMY : TECHNOMART MALAYSIA 9 March 2020, MIGHT Energy storage is one of the key elements to a decarbonised economy. The drive to becoming climate-neutral is a global challenge and is in line with Sustainable Development Goal 7 to ‘Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all’.
Energy storage is a means to an integrated solution that addresses our energy needs and modernises the energy grid concept, provide sustainable mobility, and ensure reliability and resilience in the energy supply. In light of all this, what drives policy makers, the utility companies and the energy storage market? This Talk Series featured Tim Grejtak, an analyst with Lux Research and lead for the Owning the Energy Transition team’s coverage of energy storage. It focused on the move towards decarbonisation and energy storage in (1) the built environment; (2) transportation; and (3) industry. This TechnoMart session highlighted the importance of decarbonised economy and contribute towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
