In April 2019, a fiscal sustainability assessment was completed for Melaka State and Melaka City which revealed several areas for improvement including the need to obtain a credit rating. The credit rating implementation aimed to assist the State Government of Melaka and the Melaka Historical City Council in analysing the challenges affecting creditworthiness and preparedness to access market-based financing. These ratings allow access to the national financial market and improve the financial management. To implement the credit ratings in Melaka, MIGHT via project delivery partner, Perbadanan Teknologi Hijau Melaka engaged RAM Rating Sdn Bhd which resulted in the completion of the assessment report for 2020.
