CAPACITY BUILDING & AWARENESS FOR MELAKA GREEN SEAL (GEF6 CAPACITY BUILDING)

The Melaka Green Seal Project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia (KPKT), MIGHT, Standard Malaysia and Melaka State. The project aims to enhance and increase the capacity and number of assessors for Melaka Green Seal building, and also create awareness on the guidelines and regulations for government officers, developers, planners, architects, contractors and related stakeholders. The objectives of this programme are: • To prepare for statewide implementation of Melaka Green Seal. • To enhance awareness to related stakeholders to better understand the Melaka Green Seal guidelines and regulations. • To share and replicate Melaka green building initiatives and implementation with other states in Malaysia • To reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from future developments in Melaka. Melaka Green Technology Corporation was appointed to implement this project which started in July 2020. It is targeted to be completed in June 2021 with full guidelines and publication for reference. a b c d
